تعيش دمية في مدينة باربيلاند تُدعى باربي، وحينما تُطرد من المدينة بسبب عدم كونها مثالية، تنطلق باربي في مغامرة بالعالم الحقيقي على أمل إثبات جدارتها والعودة إلى وطنها.

يجد رئيس أوبتيموس كوكبه (سايبرترون) - الكوكب الميت بتلك الآونة - ويحاول جاهدًا في العثور على المسئول عن قتله؛ فيجد طريقة لإعادة الكوكب إلى الحياة مرة أخرى، وفي سبيل تحقيق هذا ينبغي له العثور على قطعة أثرية، وتوجد هذه القطعة الأثرية على كوكب الأرض.
