تدور أحداث الجزء الثاني من الفيلم حول زيارة مارتي لعام 1955 مرة أخري عن طريق آلة الزمن، ولكن مهمته هذه المرة منع تغييرات كارثية لعام 1985، وذلك دون تدخل أحد معه في رحلته.

تتلقى نادلة عرضًا يغيّر حياتها حين لا يجد شرطي ما يكفي ليعطيها بقشيشًا، ويعدها بنصف ربحه في ورقة يانصيب إن حالفه الحظ هذه المرّة... وحالفها!

في عام 1955، يجتمع مجموعة من الطلاب والآباء من أجل حضور مؤتمر خاص بالفضاء، ولكن يتعطل مسار المؤتمر حينما يتعرض العالم لسلسلة من الأحداث الغير متوقعة.

يتحول عشاء خارج المنزل بأعجوبة إلى معركة من أجل بقاء الجنس البشري، حيث يحضر فيلق من الملائكة لإنهاء العالم، ويصبح أمل البشر متركزًا في مجموعة من الغرباء المُحاصرين بقاعة العشاء برفقة رئيس الملائكة ميخائيل (بول بيتاني).

تبدأ الأحداث خلال الرحلة إلى نيويورك والتي قام بها (هاري) و(سالي)، وكان هاري يخطط لبدء العمل في مؤسسة كبيرة، أما سالي فكانت تعتزم الالتحاق بكلية الصحافة، وتكون بداية علاقتهما عن طريق خلاف، لتجمعهما المصادفة أكثر من مرة، وتتطور علاقتهما مع الوقت.

بينما (جيف تايلور) بصحبة زوجته في سيارتهما في رحلة بالسيارة عبر البلاد، يتوقفان عند محطة وقود، وتحدث بينه وبين أحد الأشخاص بعض العبارات العدائية، بعدها يسير في طريقه ليتعرض لحادثة قوية فتدفن زوجته بين أنقاض السيارة، ويحاول إنقاذها بشتى الطرق، عندما يريد طلب المساعدة باللاسلكى يجد أن بطاريات اللاسلكى تم العبث بها بشكل مريب، ويبدو أن الأمر، ليس مجرد حادثة عارضة.

تدور أحداث الفلم حول الجندي (دايفد) ، الذي رجع للتو من تأدية واجبه في جبهة المعركة ، يقدم نفسه لعائلة (باترسون) مُدعيًا أنه صديق لابنهم المتوفى حديثًا في الحرب ، تستقبله العائلة في بيتهم ، ولكن بعد ذلك تبدأ سلسلة من حوادث القتل ، التي يبدو أنها ترتبط بظهوره.

بعد مرور عامين على هروبها خلال هجوم تعرضت لها عائلتها، تسعى بيكي لإعادة بناء حياتها مجددًا برعاية امرأة مسنة تُدعى إيلينا، ولكن حينما تظهر عصابة وتهاجم المنزل، يصبح على بيكي التصدي لهم لحماية من تحب.
