في بث مباشر لإحدى البرامج التلفزيونية الشهيرة خلال عام 1977، تسير الأمور بشكل خاطئ ليُطلق العنان للشر وتتحول الحلقة إلى كابوس للضيوف والمُشاهدين، وتتوالى الأحداث.

في إطار مشوق ومثير ممزوج بالكثير من الرعب، تدور الأحداث عقب فقدانه لحبيبته (كيشا) في حادث سيارة، يقرر (مالكوم) بدء حياته من جديد بالزواج من (ميجان)، وهي أم لطفلين، لكن فجأة تعود الظواهر الخارقة وغير الطبيعية في الظهور مجدداً، مستهدفة الطفلين والمنزل، لكن الأمور تتعقد أكثر عندما يكتشف أن (كيشا) عادت للحياة.
