تدور أحداث الفيلم حول لعبة خشبية اسمها بنوكيو، التي قام بصنعها صانع الألعاب جيبيتو، الذي يتمنى أن تدب الحياة في بنوكيو، حيث يتم تحقيق هذه الأمنية من قبل جنية زرقاء جميلة وعندها تبدأ المغامرة.

Gintarou is a fox spirit that has been protecting the small Inari temple since the Edo era. The Animals of Farthing Wood is an animated series created by the European Broadcasting Union between 1992 and 1995 and based on the series of books written by Colin Dann.
