الفيلم يحكي عن أمير محب لموسيقى اسمه نافين قابل دكتور ومشعوذ الذي حوله إلى ضفدع. في محاولاته أن يصبح إنسان مرة ثانية قابل فتاة جميلة (وبطلة الفيلم) اسمها تيانا. ظنًا منه أنها أميرة، أقنعها بتقبيله ليتحول إلى أمير ولكن فشلت المحاولة وتحولت هي إلى ضفدع. وتجري أحداث الفيلم عن مغامرات الإثنين ومحاولتهما أن يصبحا بشراً من جديد.
