El 1943, una jove, vídua, decideix de fugir de Roma amb la seva filla per trobar la calma del seu poble. El cos expedicionari francès, dirigit pel general Alphonse Juin, constituït sobretot per soldats marroquins, algerians, tunisians i senegalesos de les colònies franceses, és declarat culpable de crims de guerra als voltants de la regió de la Ciociaria a Itàlia. Destrucció de pobles, robatoris i violències, però sobretot violacions en massa (i assassinats) es multipliquen al voltant del Monte Cassino. Les xifres varien entre 700 i 2.000 dones violades, i aproximadament 800 morts. Aquests fets han rebut a Itàlia el nom de marocchinate (literalment « marroquinades »).

At the Northern part of Xinjiang, two policemen were killed by a group of poachers and the prey were nowhere to be found. Five years later, Wei Jiang left the the police station in the forest, and chose to become a protector of the borders. By chance, he becomes Qin Chuan's teacher, and leads him on the path of patrolling. They meet the local vet Ye Xiao Wan, as well as leader of the animal activist group Sai Na. Together, they found the traces of the poachers, and began a fierce battle with them. Finally, the poachers were caught, and justice was served.

The story of four friends who travel from Bangkok to a remote village in the mountains for the funeral of one of the group's estranged father where supernatural events transpire. There they unleash a curse that had been long held at bay by the villagers and discover multiple layers of cover-up. While everyone becomes a suspect in the mystery, they discover that the woods conceal something worse than just superstition, and soon the whole group is being hunted.
