During the Chongzhen reign of the Ming Dynasty, eunuch Cao Huachun colludes with the Qing dynasty to seize the throne. Happy Ever After acclaimed positive reviews from critics and was TVB's third highest-rating drama of 1999, peaking to 40 points.
