Pořad byl sestříhán ze záznamů dvou samostatných koncertů, které Michael uspořádal v newyorské Madison Square Garden 7. a 10. září 2001. Vystoupení byla vyprodána během pěti hodin. Ceny vstupenek byly nejdražší v historii popu; nejlepší místa stála 5 000 dolarů a zahrnovala večeři s Michaelem Jacksonem a podepsaný plakát.
