Grace Pudel je mladá dívka žijící v 70. letech v australském Melbourne se svým bratrem-dvojčetem Gilbertem a jejich francouzským otcem. Grace je poslána do Canberry, kde ji vychovávají Ian a Narelle, kteří jsou sice hodní, ale často jsou mimo domov. Grace si v Canbeře nedokáže vytvořit žádné vazby ani záliby. To má za následek, že až obsedantně nakupuje a hromadí všechny výrobky a sběratelské předměty s tematikou šneků, které najde.

Po tragické události během natáčení temného hororu je do hlavní role náhle obsazen kontroverzní herec Anthony. Natáčení filmu však provázejí nečekané komplikace a Anthony začne vykazovat znepokojivé chování, které vyvolává otázky nejen o jeho minulosti, ale i o samotné podstatě filmu. Anthonyho dcera se snaží pochopit, zda její otec opět podlehl svým starým závislostem, nebo zda se během natáčení děje něco mnohem zlověstnějšího.

Skvělý film především díky skutečnému příběhu hlavního hrdiny nespravedlivě obviněného z pedofilie. Policie i vyšetřovací soudce se k němu od začátku chovají jako k vinnému, což je pro nevinného člověka neuvěřitelně ponižující samo o sobě. Pedofilie je hnusná věc, ale stejně hnusné je to, že na základě obvinění pologramotné osoby dokáže soudní systém zničit život do té doby zcela bezúhonnému člověku. Hlavní hrdina byl tři roky ve vazbě, poté co byl on a dalších asi 15(!) falešně obviněných zproštěn viny, se jim omluvil ministr spravedlnosti a prezident Chirac, ale to je tak vše. Skvělý a děsivý příběh o soukolí, do kterého se může kdokoli z nás dostat, ani neví jak. Philippe Torreton v hlavní roli je vynikající!
