Sophie er en ung pige, som arbejder i sin mors hattemagerforretning. En dag bliver hun forfulgt af nogle skumle banditter, men reddes i sidste øjeblik af en køn, ung mand, som i bogstaveligste forstand flyver af sted med hende. Han er selv jaget af nogle uhyggelige, menneskelignende spøgelsesgopler, der viser sig at arbejde for den onde Ødeheks. Hauru, som han hedder, er en pigeglad og forfængelig troldmand. Uheldigvis har Ødeheksen fået rettet sin lede opmærksomhed mod Sophie og hendes kontakt med rivalen Hauru, så hun tryller i jalousi Sophie om til en meget gammel Sophie. En 90-årig, rynket morlille, som i hvert fald ikke kan charmere den kønne Hauru. Sophie, i sin forheksede skikkelse, forlader nedtrykt byen. På sin vej møder hun fugleskræmslet Kålroe, og sammen finder de frem til Det Levende Slot. Et vandrende, prustende slot, ganske mærkværdigt konstrueret, som Hauru bor i sammen med sin lærling, drengen Markl.

Et sælsomt syn møder drengen Pazu, da den jævnaldrende Sheeta langsomt daler ned fra himlen med en magisk amulet om halsen. Det viser sig, at både Pazu og Sheeta drømmer om at finde Laputa, det svævende slot. Den forældreløse Sheeta håber at finde sandheden om sin familie på Laputa, men regeringens agenter og en gruppe pirater er også på jagt efter det sagnomspundne slot.

Drengen Sosuke bor med sin dejlige mor på en klint med havudsigt. Og ligesom prinsen møder havfruen i H. C. Andersens eventyr, så samler han en dag guldfisken Ponyo op i brændingen. Den storøjede, røde hunfisk føler straks en fundamental samhørighed med sin nye menneskeven. Ved hjælp af lidt oceanisk magi udvikler hun lemmer og stemmebånd, så de kan lege og spise skinkemadder sammen på landjorden!

Ashitaka bliver bidt af en dæmon og får en grim infektion. Derfor begiver han sig afsted for at finde guden Shishigami, der efter sigende kan helbrede ham. Undervejs oplever han den åbne konflikt mellem skovens gamle guder. Han er også vidne til minelandsbyens udnyttelser af jordens ressourcer. Ashitaka prøver at mægle, men uden større held.

Kiki er 13 år gammel og bliver sendt ud i verden for at komme i lære som heks. Med sig har hun sin mors flyvende kost og den talende kat Jiji. Kiki må klare sig selv men får heldigvis plads som bud hos en bager i en stor fremmed by. Nu får hun brug for sine nye flyveevner, når hun leverer brød til byens folk, mens hun kæmper med hjemve og uforskammede kunder. Og så er der jo også den lokale dreng Tombo, som er temmelig interesseret i Kiki?

De eventyr eksploderer i aktion med debut af Mewtwo, en bio-manipuleret Pokemon skabt ud fra DNA Mew, den sjældneste af alle Pokemon. Fast besluttet på at bevise sin overlegenhed, Mewtwo lokker Ash, Pikachu og andre til en Pokémon kamp som ingen før. Mewtwo vs Mew. Super-kloner vs Pokemon. Det er den ultimative opgør ... med den meget verdens fremtid på spil!

Filmen 'Held og lykke, Leo Grande' følger den 55-årige enke, Nancy Stokes, der længtes efter romantik, nye oplevelser og god sex. I håbet om at opnå dette, hyrer hun en den unge sexarbejder Leo Grande for en aften.
