Der menschliche Körper umfasst etwa 37 Billionen Zellen, die rund um die Uhr zusammenarbeiten, um das Leben und die Gesundheit zu bewahren. Während rote Blutkörperchen den Sauerstoff transportieren und weiße Blutkörperchen gegen Bakterien kämpfen, arbeiten unzählige weitere Zellen unermüdlich im Hintergrund. Niko, eine engagierte Schülerin, lebt mit ihrem Vater Shigeru zusammen. Dank ihrer Disziplin und gesunden Lebensweise sind die Zellen in ihrem Körper stets aktiv und gut gelaunt. Ganz anders verhält es sich bei Shigeru: Seine Zellen leiden unter den Folgen seines unregelmäßigen und ungesunden Lebensstils, sind erschöpft und unzufrieden. Obwohl sie äußerlich als glückliches Vater-Tochter-Gespann wirken, könnten die Zustände in ihren Körpern unterschiedlicher nicht sein. Doch während ihr Alltag weiterläuft, schleichen sich heimlich Krankheitserreger in ihre Körper – und ein epischer Kampf um ihre Gesundheit steht unmittelbar bevor.

Die Besatzung des Weltraumfrachters Nostromo - darunter der dritte Offizier Ellen Ripley - befindet sich im künstlichen Tiefschlaf. Plötzlich empfängt ihr Schiff ein SOS-Signal. In this 4-part series, Dr Gunther von Hagens and Professor John Lee demonstrated the anatomical structure and workings of the body. The 4 episodes were screened in the United Kingdom on Channel 4 in 2005. The show features public anatomy demonstrations with the use of real human cadavers and live nude models, carried out at Gunther von Hagens' "Institute for Plastination" in Heidelberg, Germany. Dr von Hagens’ public demonstrations are not formal anatomy dissections performed by medical students in some countries as part of their medical training. Formal dissection are performed slowly and take dozens of hours of dissection. Anatomy for Beginners performs quicker autopsy and also combines with demonstration of plastinated body parts and specimens to gives just a glimpse of the human anatomy.
