Όταν μια κοπέλα από το Σαν Φρανσίσκο αποκτά έναν ξενώνα στη Νέα Ζηλανδία, αφήνει τα πάντα για να ανακαινίσει το επαρχιακό ακίνητο με τη βοήθεια ενός όμορφου εργολάβου.

Σε φτωχικό προάστιο του Όκλαντ της Νέας Ζηλανδίας ζει η οικογένεια των Χέκε. Ο πατέρας, Τζέικ, είναι ένας βίαιος άντρας που του αρέσει να μεθάει, αλλά παρόλα αυτά, αγαπάει την οικογένεια του. Η μητέρα, η Τζέικ, σηκώνει το ψυχολογικό φορτίο του σπιτιού. Το μεγάλο αγόρι ετοιμάζεται να μπει σε συμμορία, ενώ το μικρότερο έχει ήδη προβλήματα με την αστυνομία. Η ιστορία διαδραματίζεται στην Νέα Ζηλανδία τον 19ο αιώνα. Η Έιντα είναι μια μουγκή Σκοτσέζα που ταξιδεύει μαζί με τη μικρή της κόρη στη Νέα Ζηλανδία, με σκοπό να παντρευτεί τον Στιούαρτ. Η Έιντα επειδή δεν μπορεί να αποχωρισθεί το αγαπημένο της πιάνο, θα το πάρει μαζί της. Ερχομένη στη νήσο το όργανο θα καταλήξει στην ιδιοκτησία του Μπέινς, υπάλληλου του Στιούαρτ.

Μαρτυρίες από επιζώντες και διασώστες μαζί με πλάνα λεπτό προς λεπτό συνθέτουν αυτό το καθηλωτικό ντοκιμαντέρ για τη φονική έκρηξη ηφαιστείου το 2019 στη Νέα Ζηλανδία.

Στις ανατολικές ακτές της Νέας Ζηλανδίας, ο γιος του αρχηγού της φυλής των Μαορί χάνει στη γέννα τη γυναίκα του και το αγοράκι από τα δίδυμα παιδιά του. Απογοητευμένος φεύγει για το εξωτερικό και αφήνει το νεογέννητο κοριτσάκι, την Πάι, να μεγαλώσει με τον παππού και τη γιαγιά της. Δώδεκα χρόνια αργότερα η Πάι αγωνίζεται να αποδείξει στον παππού της πως μπορεί να γίνει αρχηγός της φυλής της παρά το γεγονός πως είναι κορίτσι... Ένα νέο κορίτσι αντιμετωπίζει το παρελθόν, αλλάζει το παρόν και κατευθύνει το μέλλον.

Πράγμα που δέν θα ήταν τόσο κακό, αν ο Μπρόντι δεν ήταν οπαδός και ακροατής αυτού του είδους «ΡΟΚ» μουσικής που διαλύει τα παιδικά μυαλά, και τα στρέφει προς την λατρεία του Σατανά.

Writers for the show included James Griffin, who went on to write Outrageous Fortune, Rosemary McLeod and Ian Mune. The show's title theme song was performed by Beaver Morrison. The show has not been rescreened since its original screening, but selected extracts have been made available for viewing on NZ On Screen.

MasterChef New Zealand is a New Zealand competitive reality television cooking show based on the original British version of Masterchef. The first episode aired on 3 February 2010 at 7:30pm on TV ONE. The show currently features judges Ray McVinnie, Josh Emett and Simon Gault. The series is similar to the format of MasterChef Australia whereby contestants compete in weekly elimination challenges, including team challenges. The major difference is the New Zealand series only has one episode per week compared to Australia's five per week. The first series was won by Brett McGregor, over runner-up Kelly Young, in the grand finale which was screened on 28 April 2010. Nadia Lim won the second series, beating runner-up Jax Hamilton in the finale. The third series was won by Chelsea Winter, who beat runner-up Ana Schwarz in the finale.
