Death of Superman es una película animada de superhéroes de 2018 perteneciente al universo de Películas animadas originales del Universo DC. Dirigida por Jake Castorena y Sam Liu, esta es una nueva adaptación del cómic basado en el mismo arco argumental, y una versión de la película de 2007, La muerte de Superman. El filme se dividirá en dos partes, The Death of Superman saldrá en el 2018 y la segunda parte, titulada The Reign of Superman se estrenará durante el 2019.
Mucho tiempo ha pasado desde que Hongo Takeshi comenzó su batalla contra Shocker. Mucho tiempo se ha ido quedando solo, sus amigos lo han ido abandonando por razones naturales y solamente le queda una razón por la que vivir. Pero esa razón será muy importante y no algo insignificante. Relata la historia de Vasily Ivanovich Chapaev (1887-1919), un comandante legendario del Ejercito Rojo que se volvió héroe de la Guerra Civil Rusa. La trama esta basada en la novela del mismo nombre escrita por Dmitri Furmanov, un escritor ruso y Comisario Bolchevique que es enviado desde Moscú para luchar junto a Chapaev para enfrentar al ejercito blanco de Kolchak. Chapaev recibe a Furmanov fríamente, pero poco a poco va surgiendo el entendimiento entre ambos.
Takeshi Hongo is a promising young man with a passion for motorcycle racing. However, his dreams are suddenly ruined when he gets kidnapped by Shocker, the evil secret organization planning to dominate the world. After being remodeled into a cyborg, Takeshi escapes and swears to protect the world from the inhuman monsters.
The Sky Force sends five highly trained operatives to participate in an experiment which will expose them to Birdonic Waves, resulting in superhuman abilities. But when the Earth Ship is attacked by Vyram, the majority of the Birdonic Waves are sent to Earth and find four unsuspecting civilians. Now, it's up to these four accidental super humans – Raita, Kaori, Ako, and Gai – alongside Ryu, the only original operative to receive Birdonic Waves, to defend their dimension against Vyram.
Takeru Tenkuuji, the son of a ghost hunter, is murdered by the evil Ganma and resurrected by a mysterious hermit and bestowns upon him the Ghost Driver and a Ghost Eyecon, an orb-shaped device which can see ghostly creatures like spirits of dead creatures, Ganma, and other Riders. The hermit tells Takeru that he has 99 days to gather 15 additional heroic Eyecons to be brought back to life permanently, and must fight the Ganma as Kamen Rider Ghost to obtain them.
The year is 2022. It is an era of chaos, half a century after the government announced the coexistence of humans and kaijins. Aoi Izumi, a young human rights activist calling for the elimination of discrimination, meets a man named Kotaro Minami, the one called "Black Sun," who is a candidate for the next Creation King.
