Charly was a clown before he lost his talent for making people laugh. When Charly loses his last engagement, he decides to take his own life. He jumps off a bridge under which Karla, a notorious merrymaker, is disposing of her latest victim. His suicide attempt fails, so Charly blackmails Karla: either she kills him or he betrays her to the police. Karla is a lust murderer, she only kills who she loves - and Karla simply can't feel anything for the world-weary clown. When all attempts to kill her fail miserably, Charly has a plan: laughter is the best aphrodisiac. Charly wants to make Karla laugh, make her fall madly in love with him and then finally be able to kill him.

In the prelude of the twentieth century, Pedro arrives in Tierra del Fuego, an hostile and violent territory, to immortalise the marriage of a powerful landowner. Five young Ukrainians discuss life following the Maidan Revolution of 2014. Not all fought in the Russian-Ukrainian war, but it, regardless, shattered their life plans. Representing 'Generation Maidan', they face the question of how to cope with experiences of violence, how to go on. A local theatre director produces Hamlet, wherein they can use Shakespeare’s tragic character as a mirror and face their traumas onstage. For them, 'to be or not to be' is not simply text but an existential dilemma with no clear answer.

In 1952, while the Korean War was still raging, the rulers of North Korea sent hand-picked students to other socialist countries to be trained there and later use their newly acquired knowledge to rebuild their destroyed homeland on their return. The majority of them ended up in the GDR, where they soon found their way around the German language and culture. During their stay, many of the North Korean students also met young women with whom they fell in love and with whom they eventually had children. But when the young men were ordered back to their homeland in the early 1960s, some of the newly formed families were left behind. The story of those left behind is told in "In love, engaged, lost".

This documentary accompanies students at a German police academy over the course of their first year. A remote location in Saxony-Anhalt. This documantary takes an uncensored look at the German police for the very first time.
