Cooperien iso perhe kokoontuu viettämään joulua yhdessä, mutta perinteisiä kuvioita sotkevat yllätysvieraat. Odottamattomat käänteet pakottavat pohtimaan elettyä elämää, ja Cooperit löytävät jälleen toisensa ja rakkauden. Sopassa on myös mukana Danin entinen työnantaja, joka havittelee samaa kauppaa.

Rikkinäisen perheen jäsenet jäävät loukkuun antiikkiliikkeeseen, kun perheen iäkäs matriarkka yhtäkkiä kieltäytyy nousemasta ylös sohvalta.
