After the liberation in 1946, in a village in western Macedonia implemented collectivization farms. In 1918, after the end of the Balkan Wars and the First World War, hundreds of Macedonians immigrated to Bulgaria. Among them there were pro-Bulgarian Macedonians who wanted to exploit the emigrants for their own political purposes. A number of decent freedom fighters were eliminated. The victim of one of the assassins in Sofia was Djorche Petrov. His assassin is a young boy who doesn't even know that he is shooting dead the man who is one of the last real fighters for the freedom of Macedonia. By discovering that he has been unknowingly involved in the pro-Bulgarian organization and has been used for an execution of this vile act, it means the death sentence for the young boy.
After 15 years spent working in Germany, forty-something-year-old Nada is getting divorced. Her husband is returning to the home country, opens the mechanic shop and starts a new life with his new young wife. To prevent Nada from returning home, he starts spreading the word about her misconducts. But Nada also knows the ways of the old community, therefore she comes back in a brand new Mercedes, accompanied by a young German.
March 1903. The Ottoman Empire is in a process of disintegration. Only Macedonia is not still liberated in the Balkans. The Macedonian revolutionary movement is in full growth. The Turks are trying to keep their last bastion in Europe. The Macedonian people are being exposed to the most severe oppressions as it is due to the revenge of the Turks for supporting and protecting the komitas - Macedonian freedom-fighters. In such a case the Turks besiege a village where a weeding ceremony is taking place. They shoot at the peasants, round them up and most of them are being taken away. More than two hundred people are taken prisoner in the fortress. The Turks sentence them to from 15 to 101 years in prison. Then the prisoners are loaded on a ship and are transported to Asia Minor. On their way through the desert the Macedonians are exposed to various humiliations. A lot of them overeat and die. In October 1908, the prisoners arrive at the place where they are to serve the sentence.
The film is the story of girl Cveta who was abducted by the Ottoman bey and taken away in his harem. Bey is trying to embrace Islam, but its persistence, and its neighbors led beloved Spasa, and beloved local priest, assisted by diplomats of the great powers manage to free themselves. On the day of her wedding comes Bey with his army to try to get it back. Cveta dies, Spasa killing Bey and and goes to the committees.

After the divorce with his wife, in his apartment now live his son Matej, a grown man who is trying to earn his living as a musician, his girlfriend Mira and a hitchhiker that Matej found on the road.

A tragicomedy on displaced people in the post-Communist era. Its protagonist are mostly oldtimers from the circus world and the variety stage. When the circus burns down and the "last performance" ends in tragedy, the fault for the loss is laid upon corrupt officials and smalltime gangsters. Veteran screen star Meri Boshkova - who played the title role in the first Macedonian feature film made, Frosina (1952) - can be seen in the role of Mimi, a woman at the dumpyard who lives with her dreams.
