Kada se meteor sruši na auto Susan Reynolds, dodir sa nepoznatom tekućinom pretvori ju u 15-metarskog diva. Buntovni mladi pilot Jake, koji je po smrti svoga oca odbacio obuku i upleo se u zbivanja kriminalnog podzemlja, sada uviđa ozbiljnost situacije i odlučuje se udružiti s otuđenom sestrom, publici već poznatom Makom Mori. Moraju nastaviti herojsku misiju svog pokojnog oca te zajedno u boj povesti hrabru novu generaciju pilota i boraca, odraslih u sjeni rata. Pridružuju im se daroviti pilot Nate Lambert i petnaestogodišnja Jaeger hakerica Amara Namani.

Spektakularna akcija prepuna specijalnih efekata. Bića iz druge dimenzije prijete uništenjem Zemlje, a oduprijeti im se možemo jedino divovskim robotima kojima upravljaju najbolji piloti. Izvanzemljska prijetnja svijetu došla je iz dubina Pacifika, iz rasjekline iz­među dviju tektonskih ploča, iz portala između dimenzija. Da bi se obranili od čudovišta, čelnici velikih sila su se ujedinili i stvorili vlastita čudovišta—rođen je program Jäger (jeger, njemački: lovac)… koji će nakon prvotnih uspjeha doći na rub propasti, zajedno sa cijelim svijetom.

Priča o devetogodišnjem Hogarthu koji spasi golemog robota koji je došao na Zemlju iz svemira i sprijatelji se s njim. Hogarth pokušava zaštititi dobroćudnog i nezasitno znatiželjnog diva od nametljivoga vladina agenta i vojske.

Priča o izvanzemaljskom putniku Klaatuu koji dolazi na Zemlju zajedno s robotom tjelohraniteljem, Gortom, da upozori na planetarno uništenje ako ljudi ne prestanu uništavati okoliš.

U nedalekoj budućnosti Detroit je postao grad kriminala. Jedna multinacionalna tvrtka ima ugovor s gradskom upravom o nadzoru rada policije. U toj je tvrtki odjel koji smišlja i izrađuje strojeve za borbu protiv kriminala. Najprije konstruiraju jednu vrstu radio-dirigiranog tenka bez vozača no taj zbog pogreške ubija i nevine ljude. Mladi i poduzetni Morton želio bi konstruirati policajca-robota koji će se boriti s kriminalcima. Prilika mu se pruži kad najboljeg policajca Murphyja ubiju zločinci. Upotrijebivši dijelove Murphyjeva tijela, Morton predvodi konstrukciju Robocopa, robotske varijante Murphyja. Morton se nada da će time poniziti i Jonesa koji je naručio onaj neuspjeli stroj za ubijanje. Robocop, vođen Mortonovim zapovijedima, savršeno funkcionira u borbi s kriminalcima. I premda su u njegovom "mozgu" izbrisane sve Murphyjeve svjesne uspomene, u njegovoj podsvijesti još postoji informacija da ga je ubio Clarence - kriminalac s jakim vezama u tvrtki koja nadzire policiju.

Godina je 1961. Arka, svemirski brod s planeta Cybertron, koji krije tajnu koja bi mogla okončati rat između Autobota i Decepticona, sruši se na tamnu stranu Mjeseca. Ranjeni svemirac stigne izreći na engleskom da je došao u mirovnoj misiji i da je onaj predmet bio dar za američkog predsjednika.
