Priča započinje na Zemlji. Glavni lik Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), vojnik koji još nije pronašao razlog za što bi se borio, regrutiran je za odlazak na planet Pandora u vrijeme kada je svijet na rubu propasti (gotovo ne postoji niti jedan biljni ili životinjski oblik života, a financijski kolaps je zahvatio sve segmente). Treba zauzeti mjesto svojeg brata koji je poginuo u pokušaju komunikacije s Na'vi vrstom (visoka, mršava i plava bića s dredloksima) koja obitava na planetu Pandora. No, postoje problemi; prvi je to što je Jake invalid (ostao je bez noge tijekom ture kao marinac), a drugi je taj što Na'viji baš i nisu veliki ljubitelji ljudske rase.

Haffaz Alladeen je bizarni diktator naftom bogate afričke zemlje Wadiye. Alladeen je jednako egoističan i nemilosrdan kao i svaki drugi diktator, te će smaknuti bilo koga tko se ne slaže s njim. No, kada ga UN pozove da prodiskutiraju činjenicu da njegova država posjeduje nuklearni program, stvarni za Alladeena okreću se potpuno naopačke.

Lokalni gangsteri prisiljavaju Tan Lungovog rođaka da im proda restoran, nemaju namjeru popustiti i spremni su silom ostvariti svoj naum. No kada Tan Lung stigne u grad, omjer snaga se mijenja i koliko god se oni trudili, ne mogu poraziti Tan Lunga. Gangsteri odluče unajmiti najbolje japanske i europske borce, no on ih se s lakoćom rješava. Jedino što je im je preostalo je pozvati američkog borca Colta (Chuck Norris).

Jedne noći njihovo glasno 'puštanje vjetrova' privuče pažnju izvanzemaljca (Jacques Villeret) s planeta Oxa.

Radnja se vrti oko Sebastiana kojeg njegova zaručnica ohrabruje da dovede svog oca, frizera Salva, na praznično druženje sa svojom superbogatom i izuzetno ekscentričnom obitelji. Vikend se razvija u nešto što se može opisati samo kao “sukob kultura”, ostavljajući Sebastiana i Salva da na malo teži naćin otkriju kako je sjajna stvar u obitelji, zapravo sve.

Goodness Gracious Me is a BBC English language sketch comedy show originally aired on BBC Radio 4 from 1996 to 1998 and later televised on BBC Two from 1998 to 2001. The ensemble cast were four British Indian actors, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Kulvinder Ghir, Meera Syal and Nina Wadia. The show explored the conflict and integration between traditional Indian culture and modern British life. In the television series most of the white characters were played by Dave Lamb and Fiona Allen; in the radio series those parts were played by the cast themselves. The show's title and theme tune is a bhangra rearrangement of a hit comedy song of the same name. The original was performed by Peter Sellers and Sophia Loren reprising their characters from the 1960 film The Millionairess. The show's original working title was "Peter Sellers is Dead", but was changed because the cast generally liked Peter Sellers. In her 1996 novel Anita and Me, Syal had referred to British parodies of Asian speech as "a goodness-gracious-me accent". One of the more famous sketches featured the cast "going out for an English" after a few lassis. They mispronounce the waiter's name, order the blandest thing on the menu and ask for twenty-four plates of chips. The sketch parodies often-drunk English people "going out for an Indian", ordering chicken phall and too many papadums. This sketch was voted the 6th Greatest Comedy Sketch on a Channel 4 list show.
