Nella 2ª il racconto perde colpi: l'incontro con gli alieni è fiacco e dolciastro.

In questo caso la posizione è un po' sfumata, e meno definita che in precedenza: al centro della vicenda, infatti, non è più la lotta di classe o le amarezze della classe operia, ma la vacuità di valori di una gioventù che non sa più a cosa appigliarsi, dato che neppure i genitori offrono certezze condivisibili. Amaro e cinico come solo i maestri della commedia all'italiana sapevano in passato essere, Virzì si candida ad essere il cantore più credibile della crisi di una società che si morde incessantemente la coda, oltre che un ottimo direttore di attori.
