21世紀末の世界大戦により人類は大量の化学兵器を使用した。その結果地上の大半は居住不可能となり富裕層はヨーロッパを中心としたブリテン連邦（the United Federation of Britain、通称UFB）に住み、貧困層は反対側のオーストラリアを中心としたコロニーに居住する事になり、コロニーの住民はUFBの労働力の為にフォールと呼ばれる巨大なエレベーターに乗りUFBに通勤し働いていた。やがてUFBからの独立と解放を目的とするリーダーのマサイアスを中心としたレジスタンスと呼ばれる反体制派のテロ活動が盛んになり、UFB代表のコーヘイゲンはロボット警官のシンセティックの増産を唱える。
1938年、日中戦争の激化によって中国本土から香港に逃れていた女子大学生・王佳芝（ワン・チアチー）は、学友・鄺祐民（クァン・ユイミン）の勧誘で抗日運動をかかげる学生劇団に入団。翌年、佳芝も地下工作員として、暗殺の機を窺うため特務機関の易（イー）を誘惑したが、易の厳しい警戒で暗殺は未遂に終わる。3年後、再度、易暗殺の工作員として抜擢された佳芝は激しい性愛を交わすうち、すさまじい孤独の苦悩を抱える易にいつしか魅かれてゆく。

"The Written Off" is a famous Serbian TV miniseries, that was very popular in former Yugoslavia, originally airing in 1974. Due to its popularity, Radio Television of Serbia has shown reruns of the series ten times, the last re-run starting in 2012. The series has achieved something of a cult status among its audience and still attracts an estimated 3 million viewers with its last rerun. Idea of series derives from exploits of freedom fighters in Belgrade during World War II, and all the characters and events are fictitious.
The series follows a group of Allied pilots who crashed in occupied territories during WWII. A network of civilians and Resistance fighters, "La Filière", is in charge of helping them pass from France to Spain so they can avoid capture.
Snapphanar is a Swedish miniseries which aired in three parts on Sveriges Television during Christmas 2006, directed by Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein. The historical drama is about the Snapphane peasant rebel movement which fought against the Swedish rule of Scania in the 17th century. The "Snapphanar" was a rebellion people, who fought secretly for Denmark during 1660-1700. The miniseries were criticised by historians due to a perceived lack of historical accuracy. The Scanian nationalist attitudes portrayed in the series did not exist in the 17th century, and the term snapphane, which is used for self-identification in the series, was in fact a derogatory term used by Swedes.
