2020年。人間のボクシングに代わり、より暴力的な「ロボット格闘技」が人気を博していた。人間のボクシングが廃れたことで、将来を有望視されていたプロボクサーのチャーリー・ケントン（ヒュー・ジャックマン）も、今では中古のロボットを使ってプロモーターとして生計を立てていた。 ある日、昔捨てた妻が亡くなったという連絡が入る。残された息子のマックス（ダコタ・ゴヨ）の養育権について、妻の姉であるデブラ（ホープ・デイヴィス）とマーヴィン（ジェームズ・レブホーン）夫妻と話し合いをすることとなるが、夫妻が金持ちであることに気づいたチャーリーは、借金を返すためにマーヴィンに10万ドルで息子を渡すと持ちかける。マーヴィンは「旅行に行く3ヶ月の間、マックスを預かってもらう」という条件付きで承諾した。 しばらくして、チャーリーのもとにマックスがやってくる。前金の5万ドルを手にしたチャーリーは以前破壊された「アンブッシュ」の代わりに、中古の「ノイジーボーイ」を購入。マックスはチャーリーの幼なじみであるベイリー（エヴァンジェリン・リリー）の元に居候することになる。金で売られたことに気づいたマックスはチャーリーを嫌っていたが、ロボットとゲーム好きな彼は無理やり試合についていく。「ミダス」との試合は最初は優勢だったが、結局負けてしまい、ノイジーボーイもスクラップになってしまう。

Super Robot Wars Original Generation: The Inspector is a Japanese anime series, that retells the events from the Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation 2 game, a game featuring only original characters and mechs created by Banpresto for the Super Robot Wars franchise. It was produced by Asahi Production and started broadcasting in several Japanese TV Stations on October 1, 2010. The anime also received a simulcast release on the English anime streaming website, Crunchyroll.

In a BattleBots event the competitors are remote-controlled armed and armored machines, designed to fight in an arena combat elimination tournament. Hosts of BattleBots were Bil Dwyer and Sean Salisbury and correspondents included former Baywatch actresses Donna D'Errico, Carmen Electra, and Traci Bingham, former Playboy Playmate Heidi Mark, and identical twins Randy and Jason Sklar. Bill Nye was the show's "technical expert". After five 'seasons', Comedy Central terminated their contract with BattleBots Inc. in late 2002.

This extraordinary series features twelve teams consisting of a fighter (a "robo-jockey") and a robotics engineer (a "robo-tech") from myriad backgrounds including a race car driver, an Olympic athlete, a National Guard helicopter pilot along with a mix of professional fighters and software engineers. Each team is paired with its own unique robot and will fight in a first-of-its kind competition using a high-tech exo-suit that translates their movements to their robot. Each fight consists of three rounds of intense action, with the winning team advancing in the competition.

Nickelodeon Robot Wars is a game show that aired on Nickelodeon from August 25, 2002 to October 6, 2002. Hosted by Dave Aizer, the show was Nickelodeon's take on Robot Wars, the popular and long-running robot-fighting game show. The show was canceled after one season, and subsequently aired on Nickelodeon GAS. The series of six shows was filmed at Shepperton Studios in England in January 2002 at the same time as the second season of the Robot Wars Extreme Warriors series shown on 'The New TNN' American television network. Both shows featured American teams and robots flown to England for the filming.
