ハワイ・カウアイ島。両親を亡くした少女リロは、姉のナニと暮らすが、福祉局から養育環境を問題視され、施設へ送られようとしていた。そんなリロは奇妙な子犬をペットとして引き取り、スティッチと名づける。実はスティッチは宇宙人ジャンバ博士がひそかに作り上げたモンスターで、脱走して地球に逃げ込んで来たのだ。スティッチの捕獲のため、逮捕されたジャンバ博士とお目付け役の諜報員プリークリーが地球へと派遣されてくる。
