はるかな昔、翼を持つ羽族と人との間に戦争が起き、敗れた羽族は飛ぶ力も失ってしまった。時は流れ、没落した羽族の王の末裔である雪烈（シュリエ）は、再び羽族が支配する世界を取り戻すべく、封印された伝説の秘宝“ナーガの真珠”を捜していた。そんな雪烈の野望に対し、大泥棒の泥空空（ニィコンコン）と、羽族ながら人間側に付いた捕吏の黒羽（ヘイウー）、そして少々頼りない皇子・赫力（ハーリー）が立ち上がる。

Lü Guichen is the heir of the nomadic Qingyang tribe, and is sent to the Eastern Land as hostage. He meets Ji Ye, an unfavoured illegitimate son who is training to become a warrior, and Yu Ran, the princess of the Winged tribe. The three become close friends, and the boys’ feelings for Yu Ran soon turn romantic. At the same time, powerful warlord Ying Wuyi has been maintaining a firm control over the Emperor, giving him unprecedented power over the nobles. Lü Guichen, Ji Ye and Yu Ran decide to join the decisive battle against Ying Wuyi at Shangyang Pass, but unbeknownst to them, an even darker conspiracy is yet to unfold.

Set in the Zheng dynasty of the fantasy world Novoland, the drama revolves around a young girl of the merfolk tribe Ye Haishi; and her love story with the current Emperor, Fang Zhu.

In the ancient time, the human honored the winged clan as gods for their ability to fly and to build a castle in the sky. The day when the castle was to be lifted off the ground an explosion destroyed it. A human girl was suspected to have the done deed. However, a man from the winged clan didn't believe it and saved her life. As it turned out, it was a faction of the winged clan trying to start a war with the humans in order to expand their control.

Ye Lingshuang, an ordinary maiden who grows up with the beloved youngest princess of the grasslands Qi Hairui / Zhuyan. The girls become best friends, and Ye Lingshuang swears allegiance to the princess. Unfortunately, the Kingdom of Zhao’s ambitious ruler Yu Xiuming conspires a plan to take over the grasslands, which eventually leads to Qi Hairui’s suicide. Ye Lingshuang vows to avenge the death of her princess, and enters Yu Xiuming’s palace under a new identity. The emperor develops an interest in Ye Lingshuang after realising her true motive, and the heroine becomes torn between loyalty to her homeland and love.

Muyun Sheng, born from a spirit mother, is the unfavoured sixth son of the reigning Emperor Ming of Duan. Discovering an ancient painting by chance, he is captivated by the spirit locked inside (Panxi), and together, they promise to search for the most beautiful places on Earth. Muru Hanjiang, friend of Muyun Sheng, is the son of General Muru Shuo, famous for conquering the Eight Tribes of Han Province. Many years later, the descendant of the Eight Tribes Shuofeng Heye sows discord between the Muyun and Muru families. Only when the friendship and loyalty between these two families is rebuilt will the Duan Dynasty be safe from invasion by the Eight Tribes. This drama tells of the loyalty, friendship, enmity and romance between the young descendants during the twilight years of the Duan Dynasty.

The story centers around the human tribe and the winged tribe. Feng Ruche is Feng Tianyi and Yi Fuling's daughter whose fate is intertwined with the greatest magician of Lanzhou.
