„Sing Sing“ pavadintame kalėjime sėdintis Divine G laukia naujo bylos svarstymo. Bėgančius metus jis įprasmina kartu su teatro trupe statydamas spektaklius – nuo Šekspyro iki pačių sukurtų komedijų apie keliones laiku. Nieko keista, kad kalinčius trupės narius periodiškai užplūsta pyktis ir neviltis dėl tokios tolimos laisvės ir išsiilgtų artimųjų. Tačiau menas geba negatyvias emocijas paversti grožiu. Filmas sukurtas remiantis tikromis kalėjimo trupės narių istorijomis, o didžioji dalis aktorių jame vaidina save pačius.
