Told in first person, this documentary weaves together two stories of disappearance: that of Atzin Molina, my high school friend who vanished in 2019, and that of Atzin, the indigenous Totonac rain deity, believed lost or dead due to oil-driven environmental devastation in Veracruz, Mexico. Through these two figures who share a name—one human, the other divine—the film explores the violence, loss, and grief that pierce through contemporary life in Mexico.

Dolores wakes up in Luis's house with no memory of how she got there, and Luis is equally puzzled. As they investigate, they uncover the shocking truth that Dolores died 50 years ago.
