Verfilming van de populaire Amerikaanse kinderboekenreeks van Deborah Gregory over vier jonge meiden die als The Cheetah Girls in de muziek willen doorbreken. Maar wanneer ze eindelijk een producent hebben, blijkt deze niet in alle meiden even geïnteresseerd te zijn.

Het avontuur begint wanneer Galleria met haar meidengroep meedoet aan een muziekfestival in Barcelona. Aangekomen in Spanje ontmoeten zij Marisol, een getalenteerde solozangeres. Ondertussen wordt Joaquin, een knappe jonge tangodanser verliefd op Dorinda. Door al deze omstandigheden komt de verstandhouding binnen de voorheen zo hechte meidengroep stevig onder druk te staan.

De zangeressen Chanel, Dorinda en Aqua dromen van een hoofdrol, maar ze worden door elke producer in New York afgewezen. De opluchting is dan ook groot wanneer ze benaderd worden door Vikram, een jonge regisseur van Bollywood-films, die hen voorstelt om naar Bombay te vliegen en er te schitteren in zijn nieuwste prent. Eens aangekomen wordt hun droom op internationaal succes aan diggelen geslagen, want slechts één van de drie meiden mag meespelen in de film.

De drie zusjes Williams (Carmen Ejogo, Jordin Sparks en Linda Boston) beginnen een zanggroepje in hun kerk in Harlem, New York. Ze groeien al snel uit tot een succesvolle meidengroep. Maar het succes brengt ook de nodige problemen - onder andere drugsgebruik- met zich mee en ze zullen moeten leren omgaan met hun roem.

Dave stuurt de meisjes naar de oorlogsgebieden in Zuid-Vietnam, waar ze klassieke soulliedjes zingen voor de Amerikaanse mariniers.

Deze documentaire volgt de onstuitbare, volledig vrouwelijke Japanse idoolgroep AKB48. Met een ingewikkeld evenwicht tussen competitie en vriendschap tussen de leden is hun band sterk. De beelden zijn afkomstig uit meer dan 1000 uur aan opgenomen video's in 2010 en bevatten persoonlijke interviews met geselecteerde leden waarin de strijd, vreugde, groei en dromen van elk van de meisjes worden onthuld.

I-LAND (아이랜드) is a South Korean boy group reality survival show produced by Mnet and organized by Belift Lab, which at the time of airing was a joint venture between entertainment companies CJ ENM and HYBE.
