TV-kjendisen Tomas Stockman (Jørgen Langhelle) flytter tilbake til hjembygda for å produsere verdens reneste vann på flaske sammen med sin bror Peter (Sven Nordin). Tapperiet gir bygda nytt liv og befolkningen nytt håp, men prøver av vannet viser snart spor av et forbudt plantevernmiddel. Tomas vil slå alarm, men Peter frykter konkurs. Samtidig får Tomas vite at svigerfaren i sin tid gravde ned noen tønner med gift på gården.
