TV er mektigere en noensinne og mest populært er programmet THE RUNNING MAN. En makaber katt og mus-lek der uskyldige innbyggere utpekes som forbrytere og jages av spesialtrente commandostyrker. Men denne gangen møter de livsfarlig motstand...

Den gjennomført ukarismatiske Herbie Stempel begynner som konkurransens helt. Han var nøye plukket ut av produsentene, de regnet med at folk ville elske en uskjønn nerd med dårlige tenner og masse unødvendig, fragmentert kunnskap. Men fjernsynet må som kjent stadig komme opp med noe nytt for å holde grepet på sine seere. Den dagen Stempel blir bedt om å svare feil og ser seg selv erstattet av den vellykkede og vakre Charles Van Doren, sønn og nevø av to Pulitzer-prisvinnere, raser verden sammen. Og Stempel hjelper villig etterforskeren Dick Goodwin for på den måten å få sin hevn og oppreisning.

In $100,000 Pyramid, contestants are in teams of two. The goal of the game is to help your partner guess an answer, by listing items that would be included in said answer, or synonymous. For instance, if the answer is “Things That Bounce”, clues would be “Po-Go Sticks”, “Kangaroos”, “Basketballs”, etc. To add to the challenge, the contestant who is giving the clues has their hands strapped to their chair, so they’re unable to gesture in order to help the guessing process.
