Este filme é uma continuação e conclusão do anime de 2003 de Fullmetal Alchemist. A história passa-se dois anos depois de Edward ter ido para o nosso mundo. Este vive em Munique juntamente com uma pessoa muito parecida com o seu irmão Alphonse, que lhe irá ajudar a voltar para o seu mundo.
