Între timp, un vagabond și artist pe nume Jack Dawson și cel mai bun prieten al lui Fabrizio De Rossi câștiga bilete de clasa a treia pe navă într-un joc. Acesta n-o ucide, ci o invită în fiecare seară la cină. În timp, cei doi încep să afle lucruri unul despre celălalt, mai cu seamă că Belle visează noaptea frânturi din trecutul Bestiei și al ținutului său. Fata descoperă că povestea Bestiei e tragică și că făptura feroce și solitară de acum a fost cândva un prinț șarmant. Curajoasă cum e, Belle începe să lupte cu obstacolele, își deschide inima și reușește să elibereze Bestia de blestem. Iar pe parcurs descoperă dragostea adevărată.

In prima parte a filmului, John Clayton este crescut de maimute in inima junglei africane iar in partea a doua, el incearca sa devina civilizat, odata cu intoarcerea acasa, in Anglia natala. In final insa, John isi da seama ca adevarata lui casa este jungla, unde a fost crescut si, ca urmare, se intoarce acolo ca Tarzan, regele maimutelor si al tuturor animalelor salbatice. Pentru cunoscutul actor Christopher Lambert rolul din acest film este primul rol important din cariera. Din distributie fac parte si alte nume sonore precum Andie MacDowell, Ralph Richardson si Ian Holm. Vocea lui Andie MacDowell este dublata in acest film de cea a unei actrite nu mai putin celebre: Glenn Close.

Hotărâți să lupte pentru a ieși la suprafață, ei trebuie să găsească repede o cale prin care să meargă prin dărâmături pe măsură ce vasul continuă să se scufunde.
