During the feast, a conflict arises between Stanisław and Zebrzydowski, Anna's competitor. Stanisław is wounded in a duel. Anna bandages him in her room. There is a rapprochement between them. Stanisław leaves for the Vatican to obtain a dispensation from the Pope for a wedding with Anna. Meanwhile, Anna repents, misses, prays and refuses to eat. Not a single word is spoken in the movie. The mood is built by Karłowicz's music.

It is a film journey tracing the footsteps of a German composer, Georg Philip Telemann, who was appointed a chapel master at the court of Count Erdmann II of Promnitz at Żary where he became fascinated with Polish folk music. The most memorable scene shows the stages of a hot-air balloon ascent. They could be shot thanks to a special camera and an external viewfinder attached to a wide-angle lens.
