It was the commercial Norwegian sitcom, and remains popular with fans, even fifteen years after its end. It was released on DVD in 2007. A spin-off, Karl & Co, aired on TV 2 for three seasons from 1998 to 2001, spawning a total of 63 episodes. Another spin-off, Karl III, aired on TV 2 in 2009, but was cancelled after only 12 episodes due to negative reviews.
