Det amerikanska flygvapnet designar ett program med artificiell intelligens som kan flyga själv. Programmet får följa med ombord för att lära sig stridsfärdigheter från vanliga piloter. Detta topphemliga projekt går helt överstyr när programmet helt överraskande börjar utveckla egen tankeverksamhet och löper amok.
