A story of a Jewish-Hungarian-Serbian family. The plot is centered about trying of an adult son to reconstruct his childhood dream of and memories. Looms, but a sunken world, the central European town with its figures, the way to experiencing deep and see a sensitive boy, his father, who by their fears that penetrate to the bone and the final humiliation of acting madness escapes and becomes a lonely, pathetic buffoon in the drama of life.
The main character is a young and very beautiful girl, Marijana. Marijana is 25 and when she was 16, her father's boss sexually abused her. Marijana's father did nothing against his boss, and because of that became very successful at his profession due to the boss' assistance. Marijana's father became a famous discreet gynaecologist for illegal abortions. Ten years after the incident, Marijana's family is very rich and popular in her town of Podgorica. Marijana did not forget what happened to her when she was younger. Marijana decides that it is time to avenge what was done to her. She does this by becoming a prostitute, and sleeping with her father's colleagues and there by harming his reputation. At one moment Marijana meets a poor but talented sculptor named Vanja whom she begins to love and care for. Marijana soon discovers that the world of prostitution and love of Vanja cannot coexist.

Mladen (44) Belgrade born, is a timeshare salesman at Montenegrin Holiday resort. He is having an affair with his colleague, Sonja (40), who is married to Metod (50) the chief sales manager who learns about his wife's infidelity. He assigns Mladen the toughest client - Omer, a Bosnian war veteran, who doesn't try to hide his aversion to Mladen. Everything becomes hopeless when Omer's three year old son Svendy falls over the edge of the hotel terrace and ends up in a hospital. Grim mood that prevails among the potential buyers is about to ruin the sales. Sonja and Metod blackmail Mladen to continue the sales at the hospital while Omer and his wife are waiting for their son's operation.
Danilo's friend from classroom passed away. Father wants to draw the boy's attention away from the funeral and from his obligations as class president by taking him on a day trip. For the father, protecting his own child from unkind experience as the funeral by going on fishing becomes much more difficult a task than he expected.
Jovan has just graduated from literature and struggles to finish his first novel. He decides to go to his friend's country estate in order to dedicate himself to writing in peace. At the estate, which is situated in obscured mountain's landscape, live farmers - one very strange family which doesn't have contact with civilization. They are illiterate, they live in unclearly defined sexual relations and they are devoted to nature. Zeko, head of the family, is sadist authority whose word, will and unique world-view can't be challenged by family members. Jovan slowly gets used to life with them, and decides to stay with them a little longer. But, it's not on him to decide how much longer.
