出身豪门的曼顿小姐（芭芭拉·斯坦威克 Barbara Stanwyck 饰）某天在遛狗时发现一个朋友从一栋老房子中慌忙跑走，她进入老房一探究竟，结果发现一具身体就躺在其中，惊愕不已的曼顿小姐急忙报警，但等警察赶到后房内却空无一物，警察们对曼顿小姐大发脾气，认为她又在一如既往地耍人，让曼顿小姐更为愤怒的是，报社编辑彼得（亨利·方达 Henry Fonda 饰）知道此事后在报纸上对曼顿小姐进行肆意批判，为了挽回自己荣誉，曼顿小姐与她的千金姐妹团们开始寻找案件的真相。

恐怖节目主持人（柳德焕 饰）和节目制作人（赵福来 饰），发现了一个失踪高中女生的“一个人的捉迷藏“游戏”视频，这是一种来自日本的招魂游戏。好奇之下，他们开始追查失踪女生的下落，并进行现场直播，却陷入了阴森恐怖的事件中。
