Nuestros héroes acampan al raso para observar una lluvia de estrellas y luego se acomodan en sus sacos de dormir. Durante la noche, Pikachu y Meowth se despiertan sedientos y se encuentran el uno al otro, cuando van en busca de agua… y entonces empiezan a vivir unas aventuras muy extrañas. Todos sus amigos Pokémon hablan como las personas, mientras que sus amigos humanos solo emiten sonidos en lenguaje Pokémon. Y, lo que es más, todos los Pokémon parecen ser capaces de evolucionar o involucionar a su voluntad.
Las cosas se ponen aún más raras cuando Pikachu y Meowth se encuentran con Blandín, que también puede hablar, y que está siendo perseguido por una gigantesca bola de fuego con cara. Salen huyendo del fuego, pero este sigue persiguiéndolos… hasta que suena el reloj despertador que Lem inventó, que acto seguido explota, despertándolos a todos.
